Professional Chef Course
The Professional Chef Course at The Chef Academy of London is designed for students who want to build the essential skills, confidence, and professional understanding needed to begin a career in the culinary industry.
This course gives students a structured introduction to professional cooking, combining academy-based training with restaurant-based learning inside a real kitchen environment. It is suitable for aspiring chefs who want practical preparation before entering the hospitality industry, as well as students who want to develop a stronger foundation in culinary arts.
Students begin with 75 hours of training in our development kitchen, guided by a qualified chef trainer. During this stage, they learn the basic knowledge and practical skills required in a professional kitchen, including preparation methods, knife skills, cooking techniques, kitchen organisation, hygiene standards, teamwork, and professional discipline.
After completing the development kitchen training, students continue with 250 hours of structured training inside one of our selected restaurant partner kitchens. During this stage, students follow The Chef Academy of London structured syllabus while experiencing the pace, standards, organisation, and daily routine of a real professional kitchen.
This restaurant-based training is part of the educational programme. It allows students to train in a professional environment, learn from experienced chefs, understand how a kitchen team operates, and develop the practical awareness needed to enter the cooking and hospitality industry with greater confidence.
By combining practical chef training, professional kitchen experience, and structured restaurant-based learning, this course offers a strong foundation for students who want to start their journey as professional chefs.
